Waterside depicts a tranquil pond scene rendered in a dreamlike, mist-enveloped manner. Kyoto-born artist Toshiyuki Ohgi layers fine mineral pigments and delicate linework to evoke trees reflected on still water with reeds in the foreground, in soft and atmospheric color. A paper title slip with the artist's red seal affixed to the verso of the frame quietly attests to the work's provenance.
